Answer: You can find them at most online fishing retailers. www.basspro.com is a good one as well as www.cabelas.com.
I'd like to make a suggestion though, depending on how much you're willing to put into it.
The Team Diawa Viento is the best reel I've ever put in my hands. They have a left and Right Handed model so that won't be a problem. It retails at about $200 but it's really worth the price. They just came out a few months ago and I've already got 6 of them.

Question: What type of brands are out there which make left handed baitcasting reels?
I'm looking for a left handed baitcaster. All I mostly found was the Shimano Curado 201. Are there any other brands out there that make left handed baitcasters?

Question: Are baitcasting reels hard to use?
I was thinking about buying one to try it out, I would rather just buy another spinning reel if they are too hard to use.
I'm a pretty experienced fishermen, I've just never tried this type of reel before.Answer: Notice most of the pros use baitcast reels. Once you master casting, and that's the hardest part of learning, you will never go back to spin cast. I disassemble my baitcast reels and clean them every year after the season closes. Some are over 10 years old now. The Ambassadeur 5000 through 10000 series are great because they are easy to tear down and parts are available for repairs.

Question: what type of baitcasting reel should i get for my ugly stick rod?
my ugly stick is a 7 footer, medium to heavy action rod.
im gonna be doing some bass, pike and catfishing what should i getAnswer: Well first off do you know how to use one or is this a first time bait casting reel ?
IF it is your first get something on the cheap side 30 to 40 bucks in case you do not like it. They can be trick to learn to cast with do to having to set the magnetic drag for different bait weights. To light and you can get bad back lash also known as the birds nest a big pain to untangle. To heavy and you get no distance on your casts.
Now if you know how to use one I personally like the Quantum series they have a large variety at all different prices. For the fish you mentioned going for I would want my reel to hold at least 150 yards of 10 pound line. I believe in having more line then you will need you never know how many snags you will get at the loss of so many yards of line.

Question: how do you put reel oil in the reels?
its an abu garcia ambassadeur
Answer: loosen the side screws and take spool out,you should not need to take apart drag assembly unless dirty then oil lightly remove extra oil take reel handle off clean and put small amount of oil always wipe off extra oils and oil the pawl too!
Always wipe off and clean reel before oiling and wipe off extra oils!
I do this every year and have not had any trouble with my abu reels and I have 2 very old ones still in use today!

Question: Does my Baitcast reel need to be disassembled and oiled?
yesterday my grandpa gave me a baitcasting reel that he had gotten around 11 years ago, and never used. it has never been oiled or taken apart and when put a bit of line on it (about 1/3rd of the spool filled) and tried to cast it, it wouldn't cast. i tried to tighten and loosen the mechanical brake, and the star drag, but this didn't seem to help at all. the reel is an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5600AB Anti-Backlash. (also this is my first baitcaster reel.)
Answer: Sounds like the grease and oil in your reel dried and gummed up. Clean off old grease and oil and reapply oil and grease should solve your problem. If you don't know how to clean your reel properly, many shops will do it for you for a small fee. Current going rate to get your reel serviced is between $10 to $12.
As for your question, the answer is:
"Yes, your reel needs to be disassembled, throughly cleaned/degreased, properly oiled and greased and properly assembled."

Question: Bass Pro Shops Signature Series Fishing Baitcasting Reels. Does anyone know what the buttons do?
Answer: Not much to add from GoldenFeathers answer, that is pretty much it... if you are just getting started with baitcasters, spend a little time in the back yard just practicing with cheap fishing line at first, that way hopefully you will get the kinks and bad spots in the cheap line, then replace when it's game time.... also, you may want to start with a less expensive reel. they will function perfectly for a beginner until you start free spooling more (no or little magnetic brake or spool tension set)... the bass pro reel is, in my opinion, the best reel on the market for that price, I don't think anything comes close, I have 4 of them on the boat at all times, and they operate perfectly...

Answer: I order a lot of fishing and hunting from Bass Pro. Fast delivery and never had a problem with them. That combo is fine for most people. If you fish a lot of tournaments where equipment failure could cost you a lot of money if you lost a big fish, I'd opt for a more durable reel but for the recreational fisherman it works great. More expensive reels usually have more ball bearings to make them smoother and last longer but you have to look at the use it's going to get.

Answer: For general freshwater fishing (in the US), I believe the SHAKESPEARE UGLY STIK + BERKLEY LIGHTNING spinning rods are supposed to be pretty good, with ABU GARCIA not bad either.... you get a FREE BAG with the Shakespeare.

Question: Is the quantum accurist pt any good?
I saw this, the one with the flippin switch that has 5 pt bearings, with the maxcast skeletal spool, and the acs II cast control. I am looking for a reel that can be very versatile, and i have a pretty limited prince range. I would need this reel to handle very different things, from soft plastics to spinnerbaits and jigs, literally everything. can it do that for me, or is it a very specialized reel only for flipping and pitching? i have a very nice abu garcia ambassdeur i use for crankbaiting, but i dont normally take it to the local pond with me where i fish from the shore. So i would use this reel there and also when im fishing off the boat. i literally will need it to handle everything. other reels i have been looking at are the bass pro shops megacast and the megacast tourney special. I can get this accurist pt for for only 50 bucks brand new, and the list price is 130. should i go for it or will this not be what im looking for?
Answer: I never was a fan of Zebco products , but to each his own I suppose.
I have a Daiwa US80XA on a Berkley Lightning 5 1/2 foot rod that I use for just about everything from crankbaits , spinners , plastic worms , jigs and a variety of top water lures. Shimano also makes decent reels.

Question: Abu Garcia Revo STX baitcasting reel?
I'm planning to get a baitcasting reel and I'm kinda interested in the Revo STX. But I'm still open to Daiwa and Shimano range which is around that price. Any recommendations? I'm just a beginner in baitcast reel, but I think it is better to get a good one as a long term 'investment'. Any opinions or info?
Answer: I have been fishing with baitcasting reels for some 40 years and have tried just about every maker out there. I settled long time ago for Shimano Curados and they were all I used .
Then when the revos came out couple years back I purchased one to check out all the buzz about them and guess what ...?I took my curados and I sold em all, ...and then bought revos that should tell you all you need to know about the revos.....lol smoothest reels around at the price point hands down...
I use them for all my applications minus my flippin outfits those are armed with 4600c also made by abu

Question: Just got Abu Garcia Revo S...what is the difference of the S, STX or other "S" models?
Im waiting for mine to arrive I cant wait... what line should I get for it... mono or floro... Im looking for long casts and accuracy... 10lbs or so...
Answer: You can't go wrong on either of these models. The SX & STX have a break adjustment on the outside, the S model on the other hand can only be adjusted by taking the side plates off. Also, the SX & STX come with the hi speed versions. I've use both models and find that the SX & STX cast a little better than the S model expecially against the wind.

Question: Is the Abu Garcia REVO winch reel/bass pro shops crankin stick rod reel combo the right one for me?
I am looking to buy a rod and reel combo for heavy tackle fishing. Is this the right rod and reel that i shouls buy for this? Also, what do you consider heavy lures?

Answer: I personally have 2 Revo setups and love them. You should be just fine although I'm not exactly sure how "heavy" tackle you're talking about fishing. I throw a lot of my bigger crankbaits, jigs, and spinnerbaits on mine and do great. So the reel is fine, you need to think more about your rod. Will you constantly be throwing heavier baits for bigger fish? If so a heavy action rod may be the better way to go. If you're just going to throw a 1/2 ounce jig here and there for Bass then a medium/heavy will be just fine. In my opinion, a medium/heavy setup is heavy enough for anything Bass. The only rod I use for Bass are 6'6 medium/heavy which will allow you to throw anything from jigs to a weightless worm.
When I hear somebody say heavy lures (and they're talking about Bass fishing) I think of 1/2 ounce jigs, large crankbaits, large spinnerbaits, and heavier rigs like a Carolina Rigged worm.
